Two New Subaru Cars Announced

As I’ve mentioned before, I like a Subaru. They may not be trendy but they are dependable, rugged and well made. Now, Subaru have been pleased to announce that an all-new Subaru XV will make its global debut at the this year’s Geneva International Motor Show to be held in Switzerland from the 7th to the 19th of March. Hybrid Ford Mustang & A New Golden Age of Automobiles

Bill Crittenden of the Crittenden Automotive Library prefers the modern approach to the Ford Mustang: Bill writes from the  USA:   Technology seems to be encroaching upon the most fun and interesting aspects of owning and driving automobiles: automatic transmissions, electric cars, self-driving cars, cars bloated by safety features and fuel economy regulations strangling design creativity. There’s a constant barrage of technological advancements vying for our attention on the dashboard that are replacing the charms of “well-weathered leather, hot metal and oil” of the cars of years gone by. New McLaren Super Series At Geneva

Back in November I had the opportunity to drive the McLaren 650S in Spider form (HERE). It was, as you might expect, a superb example of automotive prowess and a great experience. Not content to rest on their supercar laurels, for McLaren Automotive a new era will begin this March with the launch of the second generation of its Super Series at the Geneva International Motor Show. Following a lengthy negotiation period lasting 11 months, independent Porsche specialist Autofarm has acquired a 911 RS 2.7 not seen in public for a decade. The Touring specification car, one of the first series produced, formed part of a stunning collection of 911s that had lain undisturbed and idle for ten years in France and only came to light after the widow of the late original owner also passed away last year. Motorparks, Jeep, Mazda, To celebrate the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Motorparks have come up with a great new Star Wars-themed infographic. This visual pits some of the most iconic vehicles in the Star Wars universe against similar vehicles found right here on Planet Earth. Top speeds are noted but for the Earth-bound vehicles altitude might present a problem. Enjoy Motorparks graphic below. Continue reading

Audi RSQ3 – Pocket-Sized Performance

If Audi see the tiniest gap in the car market they clearly feel compelled to fill it. Buyers of the more enthusiastic style of small hatch are already catered for by the German brand’s brilliant hot pocket rocket, the RS3. Thus it seems to me that to make, effectively, a taller version of the same thing seems wilfully pointless. So why do I love the Audi RSQ3 Performance so? Continue reading

Subaru BRZ Sports Coupé Even Better For 2017

It is a well-known fact that I like a Subaru. I may have mentioned this before. I may even have mentioned mentioning this before too, if memory serves. Their whole range appeals to me especially the Subaru BRZ sports coupé which offers a proper old-school driving experience as I discovered here. Now it has been updated with a comprehensive list of upgrades to further cement BRZ as the driver’s car of choice. Continue reading

Age No Barrier To Driving Fun

Thrill-seeker Mr Lennart Ribring is looking to join the ton-up club – of drivers aged 100 and over – after buying a new 5.0L V8 Ford Mustang. Looking for a “little fun in life”, the 97-year-old says the 412bhp fastback, capable of 155mph and 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds, is “the real thing”. Continue reading
