Beaulieu – Another Grand Day Out

Last week I was saying goodbye to the outgoing Land Rover Discovery before it is replaced. I wanted to complete a good, long round trip as a form of valediction for a venerable car that is, even now, still one of the best all-rounders out there. As this model departs into history it seemed appropriate to visit Beaulieu National Motor Museum in Hampshire. Continue reading

The New Nissan GT-R for 2017

The Nissan GT-R is one of my favourite cars so I offer no apology for extolling the virtues of the new model at length here. Since its launch in 2007, the Nissan GT-R has been at the cutting edge of the premium sports car sector. It’s an uncompromising performance four-seater (sort of) for enthusiastic drivers, a car which completely embodies Nissan’s ‘Innovation that Excites’ motto. I drove the current model a while back and you can see that HERE. Continue reading

Audi R8 – Is It Really An Everyday Supercar?

In a brief and all too infrequent episode of extreme good fortune, Audi recently not only gave me the opportunity to drive the latest Audi R8 V10 Plus, they also allowed me to keep it for a week. The R8 is an automotive symphony of noise, raw power and surprising comfort. As you might expect, I had a wonderful time soured only by the knowledge that I would soon have to give it back. UK Debut For McLaren 570GT

The new McLaren 570GT will make its UK debut at the revived London Motor Show, following the global reveal at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The latest model in the Sports Series will be joining the 650S Spider and the sold-out 675LT Spider as part of the McLaren London stand #L63 at Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park. Continue reading

The Audi R8 And The Countryside Idyll.

The Audi R8 V10 Plus you see in the above image is my ride for this week only, courtesy of Audi UK. As you can imagine, it was very hard indeed to come back indoors to catch up on writing but real life has a habit of getting in the way of fun. I expect you will have noticed that. Continue reading

Range Rover Sport: Out And About

I usually hate snow. As lovely and white and virginal as it might appear on the surface, it has an underlying dark side which makes driving unpleasant and arduous. I don’t want it on my patch, it’s as simple as that; except of course when my ride is the magnificent Range Rover Sport you see in the images. When I heard that the Sport was booked it was like the sound of music to my ears. The cold white stuff would be a welcome distraction. Continue reading

Nissan GT-R: My Favourite Car Of 2015

In 2015 I have had the privilege of driving more cars than ever before. It’s been a great year and I’m grateful to all the manufacturers and press officers who made it possible. I don’t usually participate in all this COTY stuff because all the motors are different: differently designed for different people for different purposes to cater for different needs, seen differently. Wilton Classic & Supercar Show – Now Summer 2017

For the last couple of years I have really enjoyed attending this event and was looking forward to renewing my acquaintance with some fine metal in 2016. The bad news then is that I won’t. With the new vision for the Wilton Classic & Supercar being, they say, as exciting as it is ambitious, it has been decided today to reschedule the event for the Summer of 2017. Continue reading
