Last month saw the eagerly-anticipated release of ‘Spectre’ – the 24th James Bond film – with Daniel Craig once again playing the role of secret agent 007. The movies is said to be one of the most expensive films produced of all time and it also featured some of the most iconic cars.
But what are your favourite motors to have featured in the Bond series? That is a tough question but one online car buying site, Sell Your Jamjar, has attempted to answer as it has named its Top Three James Bond Supercars.
In it, it lists the BMW Z8 – perhaps a surprising choice by many – from ‘In The World Is Not Enough’ which starred Pierce Brosnan as Bond. It pays particular attention to the BMW’s ‘surface-to-air missiles, titanium armour and remote control pads’ which seem to be enough to convince the site owners to give it third spot.
Next up in second place, Sell Your Jamjar has gone for the Lotus Esprit as shown in ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ which, luckily for Roger Moore, after falling into the sea, converted into a submarine.
The motor website gave top spot to the Aston Martin DB5 – a James Bond favourite that has appeared in many Bond films including ‘Goldfinger’, ‘From Russia
With Love’ and ‘Skyfall’ – and indeed, we believe ‘Spectre’ too. They say it is one the most ‘iconic’ and ‘most recognisable’ Bond cars and they are probably right. The DB5 is a beautiful car – made all the more special by the fact that only around 1,000 were ever produced.
