The all-new specification World Rally Cars head for another fresh challenge as the second round of the FIA World Rally Championship takes the contenders to the snowy and remote forests of Sweden and Norway for the only true winter round in the series. And, once again, fans can catch all the spectacular sideways action on Red Bull TV. Continue reading

Britain On Top Of The WRC Rallying World

Britain is firmly back at the top of the World Rally Championship (WRC) tree – of that there can be no argument. And Britain has arrived there just in time for one of the most exciting, entertaining and open seasons in the series’ 43-year history; again, an indubitable fact. Continue reading

Red Bull TV To Revolutionise WRC TV Coverage

Red Bull TV is set to revolutionise the coverage of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) in 2017, with a pioneering approach that will bring fans of the high-octane sport closer to the action than ever before. For too long viewers in this country have been starved of decent coverage. This is especially good news as 2017 is going to be spectacular, with new cars and driver changes. Champion Sebastien Ogier has switched to the Ford M-Sport team, which will be a new challenge for him. Continue reading

Volkswagen World Rally Team Stop At The Top

As a Rally enthusiast I from time to time try to persuade others that there is no better branch of motor sport. Although there are many diehard fans (see Rally Wales) for some odd reason this sport has failed to ignite the public as it once did in the deadly days of the old Group B cars. It doesn’t help when the most successful team ups and quits without a word of warning. Continue reading

Toyota Return To The World Rally Championship

Between 1973 and 1999 Toyota were extremely successful in the FIA World Rally Championship arena but then dropped out. There’s been a resurgence of interest lately though – with the return of Volkswagen and Hyundai – so the company have decided to re-enter the foray from 2017. Toyota will compete with a car developed and built entirely at its technical centre in Cologne. Continue reading

Loeb Back For Monte Carlo Rally In Citroen DS3.

A few months ago I had the pleasure of talking to up-and-coming Welsh rally wizard Elfyn Evans and I asked him how he and the other drivers in the World Rally Championship felt now that the legendary Sébastien Loeb had moved on to other forms of motor sport. You’d think they would be delighted he’d gone but in fact Loeb is revered amongst these star drivers and sorely missed. Continue reading

Get Ready For Rally Wales

The organiser of Wales Rally GB has announced that Conwy County Borough Council is increasing its support to become official ‘Host County’ for this year’s FIA World Rally Championship event on 13-16 November. The move comes after the huge success of last November’s revitalised Wales Rally GB following a move to a new home in North Wales. Continue reading
