The McLaren 570S Spider: The Last Supercar

I should qualify that. The McLaren 570S Spider as featured here is the last supercar I think I will ever drive. ‘Are you mad?’ I hear you ask; well, maybe, depends on who you ask, but that has nothing to do with why I am done with the supercar sector.

You see, it was like this…. Continue reading

They’ve dominated this scene for such a long time, and both companies have created and sold countless cars that can’t fail but to impress. But what are the key differences between these two automotive giants? It’s time to find that out right now. Continue reading

How Much Would James Bond Pay For His Car?

James Bond 007 has had a very impressive vehicular history – some might also say successful; however, he has gone through more high-end performance cars quicker than glamorous supermodels. As each film concludes, Bond’s car often looks a little worse for wear than it did when the film began. And whilst we know he won’t have to fit the bill for these top cars, it’s an interesting thought to think what would Bond’s car expense invoice actually look like? Continue reading

A Look at the New 2017 Nissan GT-R Against the Original

There are not many supercars that are as highly revered as the Nissan GT-R. It is for this reason that there is a great deal of buzz surrounding the new 2017 version, which is the biggest update that the GT-R has seen since originally being unveiled back in 2007. This 2007 version is legendary for its staggering power and performance, as well as its sporty charm. So, what does the 2017 version bring to the table and is it worth getting excited about? FIAT 124 Spider – Old School & Better For It

Italian cars of the past had all the attributes of a practiced vamp: hugely desirable and ruinously expensive. Invariably, the design was gorgeous but the construction and electrics were often suspect and rust was an ever present spectre of impending brown doom and general owner misery. Continue reading

Ford Mustang V8 GT: Past Master.

It is dusk. The dark descends as, out of the gloom, emerges a slender figure. “That’s enormous”, said my wife, “also a bit flash”. Naturally, I expected this reaction and was ready for it. I started the car and the Ford Mustang 5.0L V8 grumbled into life; I switched on the lights and, jumping out, went around to the passenger side and opened the door to reveal – a puddle light shining a bright, white Mustang onto the road like a personal bat-signal. Job done. Sold to the lady! Continue reading

In The Heart Of England With A Porsche 718 Cayman

In England rain is a tradition. We look to the skies and wonder what that bright orb is above our heads. Eventually we recall dim memories of something called the sun. Well, a couple of weeks ago a little sun entered my life in the form of the latest version of the legendary Porsche Cayman (launch reviewed here), now designated with the number 718 in memory of a long-ago racing car. Inevitably, the weather failed to play ball and was typically appalling. I therefore am obliged to apologise for the dirty state of the car in some of my images. Continue reading

New McLaren Super Series At Geneva

Back in November I had the opportunity to drive the McLaren 650S in Spider form (HERE). It was, as you might expect, a superb example of automotive prowess and a great experience. Not content to rest on their supercar laurels, for McLaren Automotive a new era will begin this March with the launch of the second generation of its Super Series at the Geneva International Motor Show. Continue reading
