A Look at the New 2017 Nissan GT-R Against the Original

There are not many supercars that are as highly revered as the Nissan GT-R. It is for this reason that there is a great deal of buzz surrounding the new 2017 version, which is the biggest update that the GT-R has seen since originally being unveiled back in 2007. This 2007 version is legendary for its staggering power and performance, as well as its sporty charm. So, what does the 2017 version bring to the table and is it worth getting excited about? The Gazelle And The Bull

Why it’s nearly the end of the road for real performance cars in the UK:

Backstory

I recently spent the day enjoying not one but two astounding and brilliantly engineered cars. Last week was lived in the company of the Audi RS6 Performance (597bhp) with the added pleasure of an extended drive in the McLaren 650S Spider (641bhp). So, you might reasonably ask, why, you ungrateful git, are you grumbling about it? Continue reading

The New Nissan GT-R for 2017

The Nissan GT-R is one of my favourite cars so I offer no apology for extolling the virtues of the new model at length here. Since its launch in 2007, the Nissan GT-R has been at the cutting edge of the premium sports car sector. It’s an uncompromising performance four-seater (sort of) for enthusiastic drivers, a car which completely embodies Nissan’s ‘Innovation that Excites’ motto. I drove the current model a while back and you can see that HERE. Continue reading

UK Debut For McLaren 570GT

The new McLaren 570GT will make its UK debut at the revived London Motor Show, following the global reveal at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. The latest model in the Sports Series will be joining the 650S Spider and the sold-out 675LT Spider as part of the McLaren London stand #L63 at Battersea Evolution, Battersea Park. Continue reading

Nissan GT-R: My Favourite Car Of 2015

In 2015 I have had the privilege of driving more cars than ever before. It’s been a great year and I’m grateful to all the manufacturers and press officers who made it possible. I don’t usually participate in all this COTY stuff because all the motors are different: differently designed for different people for different purposes to cater for different needs, seen differently. Wilton Classic & Supercar Show – Now Summer 2017

For the last couple of years I have really enjoyed attending this event and was looking forward to renewing my acquaintance with some fine metal in 2016. The bad news then is that I won’t. With the new vision for the Wilton Classic & Supercar being, they say, as exciting as it is ambitious, it has been decided today to reschedule the event for the Summer of 2017. Continue reading

Wilton Classic & Supercar Show Is Next Weekend

Visitors to this weekend’s (June 6/7) Wilton Classic & Supercar show are set to be wowed by some of the most extravagant, historic, expensive and amazing cars in the world. The two day event in Wiltshire will showcase millions of pounds of classic cars and supercars. There will also be the most impressive Bugatti collection ever assembled and the first appearance together of the McLaren of Senna and Prost’s Ferrari since they famously crashed in the Japanese Grand Prix 25 years ago. Continue reading

British Motoring TV

Colin Hubbard, formerly of the late, lamented Speedmonkey motoring website, writes his first article on DriveWrite: Once upon a time there was a small television programme called Top Gear. A popular, sensible show that concentrated on reviewing cars and even covered motorsport featuring such classic presenters as Tony Mason, Sue Baker, Tiff Needell, Jason Dawe, Chris Goffey, Willian Woollard, Quentin Wilson, the list goes on. Continue reading

Soon In June – Wilton Classic Supercar Show

As the Wilton Classic & Supercar show fast approaches it is on course to host a jaw-dropping display of supercars at the two-day event on June 6/7 in the grounds of Wilton House near Salisbury. And whatever your definition of a supercar – there is sure to be something to fit the bill. Continue reading
